What is the total value of the NSE?

The total value of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in India can refer to different metrics depending on the context. Here are some possible interpretations of the total value of NSE:

Market capitalization: The market capitalization of NSE is the total value of all the listed companies’ shares traded on the exchange. As of my knowledge cutoff of September 2021, the market capitalization of NSE was around $2.5 trillion USD (source: NSE website).

Turnover: The total value of NSE turnover refers to the total value of shares traded on the exchange during a particular period, usually a day or a week. As of my knowledge cutoff, the average daily turnover of NSE was around Rs. 70,000 crores or $9.5 billion USD (source: NSE website).

Assets under management (AUM): The total value of NSE AUM refers to the total value of assets managed by mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and other investment vehicles listed on the exchange. As of my knowledge cutoff, the AUM of all mutual funds listed on NSE was around Rs. 32 lakh crores or $430 billion USD (source: Association of Mutual Funds in India).

It’s important to note that the total value of NSE can fluctuate based on various factors, including the performance of the listed companies, market conditions, and economic trends.
